The Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft e.V. is the joint initiative of companies and foundations that provides comprehensive consultation, networking, and support in the areas of education, science, and innovation. FRIENDS OF SALEM ASSOCIATION – ASSOCIATION OF SUPPORTERS OF SCHULE SCHLOSS SALEM

The association of Schule Schloss Salem e.V. was established in 1925, five years after Kurt Hahn and Prince Max von Baden founded Schule Schloss Salem.

Both then and now, the “Friends of Salem” support the educational mission of Salem, as formulated by Kurt Hahn. They provide assistance for projects that cannot be financed from the regular school budget, including support for the Salemer Dienste (service activities), the arts, teaching, natural sciences, and sports activities.

ROUND SQUARE

Round Square is a network of 180 schools in 50 countries across 6 continents. These schools are based on the 6 ideals formulated by Kurt Hahn.

In 1966, the Altsalemer Vereinigung e.V. established the Kurt Hahn Prize with a value of 1,000 EUR. The aim is to promote and strengthen the sense of community among the approximately 180 members of the worldwide Round Square Schools association.

The prize is awarded for exceptional service to others. This can be either a short-term or long-term service, taking place within or outside of the respective school community.

BECK’SCHE STIFTUNG

The Beck’sche Stiftung awards scholarships to talented children from Berlin and eastern Germany, enabling them to attend school at Salem. The foundation, based in the capital city, was established by Hanno Beck, an Altsalem alumni, to support the German Foundation for Monument Protection, the German Heart Foundation, and the Kurt Hahn Foundation.

Under the leadership of his nephew Dr. Clemens Beck and his wife Claudia, the foundation is actively involved in the field of education and talent promotion. The Beck’sche Stiftung supports qualified students at Schule Schloss Salem through the “Beck Stipendium” program, with a preference for students from the so-called new federal states and Berlin.
